Birthday Party!

Savannah (our neighbor and good friend) just turned 2! The theme was Fairies and Frogs. The girls were to come with their fairy wings on and Ethan was determined not be left out! So he insisted on wearing tinkerbell's wings...

Flying Children

We got new matresses for Kaylin, so before these went to storage, we had a great idea...

As always Travis joined in the fun...

A little bit of Brittany...

So I needed a Profile Picture for my webpage. So I got my own little photo shoot. Okay, I picked the places, zoomed in/out, focused on Travis first and then we'd swtich and he'd Click. It worked. I think he's got some skill! I loved the pics and didn't know which one to choose! I ended up picking--wait, I shouldn't tell you, you should go to my website and seeeee!

Kaylin Sweetie

Kaylin calls people's children, their "sweethearts". For example she'll call me Grandma Sharps' sweetheart. And the other day she told me her Teacher has "lots of sweeties"...

Ethan Chase

Some are just for fun, to show Ethan's fun personality, others I'll use in my portfolio...

Swingin Away!

We are enjoying this new Fall weather, where instead of 80 degrees by noon, it's only 70! It's such a difference and it's starting to cool down at night. The kids are swinging at the Purdy's house and having a blast. Okay, I have to join the fun too...

Funny things

Mom: It's bedtime, what book do you want to read tonight?
Kaylin: I want you to tell me a story...about a Princess Party!
Mom: Okay...There once was a princess Kaylin who lived in a castle and she invited all her friends to her princess party...They were dancing and...
Kaylin: Who was I dancing with?
Mom: Um...a Prince.
Kaylin: What was his name?
Mom: I don't know, what do you think his name should be?
Kaylin: Ethan!

In Pre-K they have a color system for behavior. Blue is best, then Green, Yellow and lastly Red (meaning you've gone in time out that day) Kaylin's had blue every day until one day, she hops into the car and blurts out: Mom I got green today because I talked in quiet time. I promise I'll be good tomorrow!

Kaylin: I want to be a princess when I grow up! If you don't cut my hair, will I turn into a princess?

Mom: Oh my gosh!
Kaylin: Mom you said a bad thing. That makes Heavenly Father sad. That's his name!
Mom: No, I said 'gosh', not 'God'. That's his name.
Kaylin: Oh no, you said it again, we can't say that mom.
Mom: Okay, should we say 'Oh my goodness' instead?
Kaylin: Yes, I think that will make Heavenly Father happy.

Watching Alladin--
"Mom, does Alladin follow Jesus?"

Mom: I think you are getting sick, honey.
Kaylin: I know, I think it's because I eat my boogers. They make me sick. Maybe I could stop eating them and then I won't be sick anymore.

OUch!

This might make you laugh; this might make you cringe; or this might just reaffirm my graceful and agile walk of life!

Picture this: It's dark, we are loading up the truck and I step off the curb, twist my ankle sideways and POP! I fall, thinking "Oh no, it's broken!" literally saying "ouch" over a million times I realize it's not broken, Phew! But that my other foot is bleeding. Ow, now that hurts! You know when your kids skin their knees pretty bad and they cry, but you want them to be tough so you just kiss them and tell them to go play... OW! (I think must hurt more when you get older. I'm sure of it!--or it may hurt more when you peel off all seven layers of skin?)
So the outcome of my gracefulness is this: A left sprained ankle with shooting pain and constant prickling (like your foot fell asleep) and a right big toe that pusses and throbs. Hmmmm. One would be fine, but both feet? Come on! I seriously walk like a great-great-great grandmother and take plenty of rests along the way.

I had to post these. It's a sad state. I have empathy for all who have ever hurt both feet at the same time. How is that really possible anyway????

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day Weekend we went to St. Simon's Island and stayed with Uncle Paul and his family. We had so much fun. The first 2 days were overcast and rainy, but Monday was perfect. We had fun on the beach, spending time with cousins, ate with my brother-in-law's family, went out to lunch with Paul and Christina, did some shopping and walked to the Pier. We can't wait to go back...
