Our friends the Anthony's came with us--Justin, Joyce, Gage, Ethan aka E-Man and Sadie (all my kids ages, Mika a year younger than Sadie), along with Paka and Grandma. (Travis' parents--they go out on Thursday to claim our spot on the island) The kids all play great and they had a BLAST!
When they weren't in the water, they were at the fire....
One morning, Gage and his shadow Ethan were standing out in the calm, clear water with Justin watching the fish swim around them. He made it fun instead of scary by telling them the fish were "kissing" them.
The boys decided it was their job keeping the fire alive all day/night. Gage, Ethan and E-Man poked that fire to no end, adding pine straw, trash and pine cones as fuel for the fire. We were grateful in those moments we came out of the water and found no warmth from the sun!
My favorite part of camping is the campfires. The kids get tired watching the flames and usually pass out. I love the conversations that go on here too.

Joyce also got us hooked on s'mores instead of our regular roasting marshmallows. The kids loved it! Ethan is showing you his yummy dessert!
Yes, I was IN the water most of the time--besides the morning or when it was raining. The water was warmer than being out of it wrapped in a cold, wet towel sometimes! Not a lot of sunshine, but only afternoon showers. We gathered up under the HUGE tarp (usually the kids stayed out in the rain...) and sat and talked, drank hot cocoa or read....The only downside was that our towels never got dry. Kids never complained, but it was nice to have that fire constantly going!
Ethan was in the water more than years past. He enjoyed being in his lifejacket and staying close to shore...(who does that sound like?)
Kaylin is our little fish (who does THAT sound like??) She would swim after Justin and get him almost every time! We had to keep an eye on her because she loved putting on her jacket and swim out pretty far. Travis would say she's a leech, not a fish because those long, lanky legs are glued to him and he can't get her off! So this became a fun game for him, let her crawl up him and then throw her off.

Love it B!
That looks like lots of fun. What a great attitude you had Brit even though it wasn't hot out. What a nice momma!
